Saffron elevates this simple dish that is fast and easy to make.
 
Yields 4 Servings Servings Quarter (1 Serving) Half (2 Servings) Default (4 Servings) Double (8 Servings) Triple (12 Servings) Prep Time 5 minsCook Time 20 minsTotal Time 25 mins 
  230  g  Penne 
  125  ml  Cream 
  Grated Parmesan Cheese 
  225  g  Sausage 
  1    Sachet of Saffron 
  Salt and Pepper to taste 
 
1 Put a large pot of water on heat to boil.
2 Crumble the sausage and brown it in a skillet. 
3 When the water reaches a boil, add salt and the penne. 
4 Add the cream when the sausage is cooked through and bring to a boil. 
5 Add the saffron sachet and salt and pepper. 
6 When the pasta is al dente, drain and transfer to the skillet, stirring everything together for a minute. 
7 Serve with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and optionally, saffron threads.
